Food: Street food

Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between street food and cafes. Many of the  cafes that appear to be mere glorified street vendors who have managed to add a few tables. Some of the street vendors are offering more attractive items than the cafes.

You are likely to find diverse opinions about eating street food if you look wide enough. The only thing I sometimes get a little nervous about is the ice in a fruit drink. Overall, no problem. I have not spoken to anyone who has a different story to tell.

But since we’re getting into the alimentary issues, I’ll add that I take a pro-biotic capsule daily. I can’t say for sure what it’s doing. Just that I’ve had no issues whatsoever.  Here’s a very small sampling of street food.

There is one form of street food that I have not sampled:

Insects: worms, crickets (Lg and Sm), silkworms, etc.

I’ve tried these:

This is barely a crack in the door of street food. There are crepes, banana roti (yummy), smoothies, quail eggs, sweets, meat in a banana leaf.

It goes on and on….

  1. Ahhhhh, my personal favourites were Mango Sticky Rice and Coconut Ice Cream served in the shell. Luckily I was walking a lot and did some cycling too while I was there or I may not have fitted back on the plane with all the street food to choose from 🙂

    • Yes, like I said. So much to choose from, and everywhere. Never more than a block from street food. And yes, the walking helps. But I’m mostly on a motorbike. Good thing I’m swimming most days. LOL.
